Maze Puzzle Pattern‐Based Static Reconfiguration of Photovoltaic Arrays for Enhanced Shade Dispersion and Power Generation Under Partial Shading Conditions

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A new maze puzzle pattern array (PPA) is presented to optimize shade allocation, alleviate the mismatch losses of PV (photovoltaic) arrays in partially shaded circumstances, and maximize output in partially shaded operation with zero extra sensors, switching components, and optimum searching schemes.

A Comprehensive Review of Fault‐Current Limiter Technologies for Smart and Resilient Power Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This review compares superconducting, solid‐state, and hybrid fault‐current limiters (FCLs) for modern alternating current, direct current, and hybrid grids. It shows that optimal FCL selection depends on fault characteristics, network configuration, voltage level, protection coordination, and resilience requirements rather than on a universally ...

Energy‐Flow Regimes and Their Temporal Transitions in a PV‐Building System

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Unlike production and consumption, which act as external factors, generated energy flows reflect the system's internal behavior regarding energy allocation at each time step. The combination of self‐consumption, surplus, and import of surplus energy into the power grid characterizes how electricity is routed between the building's local consumption and

Robust Coordinated Reserve Optimization Method for Electricity–Gas Systems Considering Multi‐Source Coupling and Multiple Uncertainties

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study proposes a two‐stage robust reserve optimization method for coupled electricity–gas systems to mitigate wind–solar fluctuations and transmission‐line contingencies. By coordinating cross‐network reserves and linearizing complex gas flow equations, the approach significantly enhances system security and economic efficiency under multiple ...

Fluorescent tagging for assessment of environmental cleaning in an equine hospital

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Healthcare‐associated infections increase morbidity, mortality, and treatment costs in both human and veterinary medicine, and environmental contamination can contribute to their occurrence. Monitoring of environmental cleaning is an important component of multimodal infection control strategies.
