Studies on the Nutritional, Functional, Textural, and Sensory Characteristics of Finger and Barnyard Millet‐Incorporated Nuggets

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
The graphic illustrates the development of nuggets traditionally known as “wari” prepared with whole green grams and composite flour barnyard millet var. (PRJ‐1) and finger millet var. (VL‐M‐380) in a 1:1 ratio. The addition of millet significantly improved the nutritional value of nuggets, providing higher levels of protein, carbohydrates, fiber ...

Determination of Aflatoxins and Selected Heavy Metals in Rice Varieties Cultivated in Fogera, Amhara Region, Ethiopia

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a vital staple crop for nearly half the world's population. This study investigates the levels of aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2) and selected heavy metals (Cd, Pb, and Cr) and essential elements (Mn, Fe, Mg, Cu, and Zn) in rice varieties cultivated in Fogera, Amhara Region, Ethiopia.

Comprehensive Review on Advancements in Food Preservation Technologies for Quality and Sustainability

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Preservatives limit microbial development, oxidation, and enzymatic degradation, resulting in better food quality and extended shelf life. Classified as natural, synthetic, or biological, each preservative has distinctive attributes and modes of action. Growing preference for natural preservatives aligns with clean label trends.

Turbulence and Control of Wind Farms

Annual Review of Control, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems, 2022
The dynamics of the turbulent atmospheric boundary layer play a fundamental role in wind farm energy production, governing the velocity field that enters the farm as well as the turbulent mixing that regenerates energy for extraction at downstream rows.

A wind farm controller for load and power optimization in a farm

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Computer-Aided Control System Design (CACSD), 2011
This paper describes the design procedure of an optimal wind farm controller. The controller optimizes the structural load and power production simultaneously, on the basis of an analytical wind farm model. The farm model delivers maps of wind, loads and energy in the wind farm.

A tutorial on the dynamics and control of wind turbines and wind farms

2009 American Control Conference, 2009
Wind energy is currently the fastest-growing energy source in the world, with a concurrent growth in demand for the expertise of engineers and researchers in the wind energy field. There are still many unsolved challenges in expanding wind power, and there are numerous problems of interest to systems and control researchers.

Supervisory Control of a Wind Farm

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2007
This paper presents a scheme for supervisory control of wind farms. We concentrate on reduction of power output variation, but the proposed scheme can also be used for system-wide controls that are related to power variation, such as frequency control or damping of power swings.

A tutorial on the control of wind turbines and wind farms

2009 American Control Conference, 2009
Wind is recognized worldwide as a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution to energy shortages, and wind energy is currently the fastest-growing energy source in the world. Despite the amazing growth in the installed capacity of wind turbines in recent years, engineering and science challenges still exist.

Quasilinear control approach to wind farm power control

52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013
Quasilinear Control (QLC) is a set of methods for analysis and design of systems with nonlinear actuators and sensors. The approach of QLC is based on the method of stochastic linearization, which replaces each nonlinearity with an equivalent gain and bias.
