Wind sensing for wind farm control
This dissertation presents methods to improve wind condition awareness on wind turbine and farm level. The methods' capabilities include the load-based wind sensing on the individual turbine rotor, the subsequent detection of wakes within a wind farm, and the learning from turbine measurements to improve and tune control-oriented wind farm models. As a

On wake modeling, wind-farm gradients and AEP predictions at the Anholt wind farm [PDF]
We investigate wake effects at the Anholt offshore wind farm in Denmark, which is a farm experiencing strong horizontal wind-speed gradients because of its size and proximity to land.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Effect of wind turbine generator model and siting on wind power changes out of large WECS arrays [PDF]
Methods of reducing the WECS generation change through selection of the wind turbine model for each site, selection of an appropriate siting configuration, and wind array controls are discussed. An analysis of wind generation change from an echelon and a

Using Spiral Dynamic Algorithm for Maximizing Power Production of Wind Farm [PDF]
This paper presents a preliminary study of a model-free approach based on spiral dynamic algorithm (SDA) for maximizing wind farms power production. The SDA based approach is utilized to find the optimal control parameter of each turbine to maximize the ...

Influence of Carbon Nanoparticles on Electrically Induced Wear of Grease‐Lubricated Steels
When an electric current enters a pair of rubbing surfaces, enormous damage takes place. In this research, how such damage occurs in the presence of protective grease and the mitigation with added carbon nanoparticles, were investigated. It was discovered that those particles regulate transport and interfacial electrical stability of the grease ...
