Wind farm control based on passivity
2010 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2010This paper presents a non linear control strategy for wind farms equipped with doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG) operating in a network with a complex load. First, taking into account an unitary power factor, droop (proportional) and inertial (derivative) classical controls are incorporated by considering a negative load behavior of the wind farm.

Controlling Wind in ECN`s Scaled Wind Farm [PDF]
ECN holds a patent called ‘Controlling Wind’ aiming at misaligning the upwind turbine in a row such that leeward turbines experience a higher wind and hence an increased power production. This concept was tested in ECN’s scaled wind farm; to our knowledge for the first time on such a scale and in field conditions.
