Quasilinear control approach to wind farm power control
52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013Quasilinear Control (QLC) is a set of methods for analysis and design of systems with nonlinear actuators and sensors. The approach of QLC is based on the method of stochastic linearization, which replaces each nonlinearity with an equivalent gain and bias.

Development of a surrogate model for wind farm control
2019 American Control Conference (ACC), 2019We present a method to derive a surrogate model for wind farm control. The procedure is based on a stochastic approach using generalized polynomial chaos (PC) and high-fidelity simulations. The turbine control law and the incoming wind conditions, such as speed and directions, are treated as uncertain variables.

Control of wind farm connected distribution network
2013 10th IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NETWORKING, SENSING AND CONTROL (ICNSC), 2013This paper presents a nonlinear control to regulate DC-link voltage and Power of wind farm equipped with Squirrel Cage Induction Generators (SCIGs), connecting into a 22kV distribution network. Both, active and reactive powers are employed in two independent control laws.

Evaluating wake models for wind farm control
2014 American Control Conference, 2014Wind turbines are typically operated to maximize their own performance without considering the impact of wake effects on nearby turbines. There is the potential to increase total power and reduce structural loads by properly coordinating the individual turbines in a wind farm.

Quasilinear Control of Wind Farm Power Output
IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2015Quasilinear Control (QLC) is a set of methods for analysis and design of systems with nonlinear actuators and sensors. The approach of QLC is based on the method of stochastic linearization, which replaces each nonlinearity with an equivalent gain and bias.

A low-order model for wind farm control
2015 American Control Conference (ACC), 2015Wind turbines in a wind farm are operated individually to maximize their own power regardless of the impact of aerodynamic interactions on neighboring turbines. There is the potential to increase power and reduce overall structural loads by properly coordinating the turbines.

A quantitative review of wind farm control with the objective of wind farm power maximization
Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 2019Abstract This article presents a review of control strategies for maximizing power production within wind farms. Discussions focus on three notable concepts; power de-rating, yaw-based wake redirection, and turbine repositioning. Existing works that have examined the potential of these concepts via optimization studies, numerical simulation ...

Modeling of wind farm controllers
2006This paper describes modeling of wind farm controllers. The paper contributes to the IEA Annex XXI "Dynamic models of wind farms for power system studies" and was presented at the Annex XXI workshop in EWEC 2006. The wind farm controllers are developed with features, which make the wind farms able to participate in the control of the power system.
