Novel Approach to Wind Retrieval from Sentinel-1 SAR in Tropical Cyclones
The strong winds in tropical cyclones (TCs) are commonly retrieved from cross-polarized SAR images using a geophysical model function (GMF). However, the accuracy of wind retrieval in cross-polarization is significantly reduced at the edges of sub-swaths.

SeaWinds wind retrieval quality assessment [PDF]
The SeaWinds on QuikScat scatterometer is the first in a series of new scanning pencil-beam Ku-band scatterometers. The viewing geometry is significantly different than previous fan beam instruments, resulting in different characteristics in the retrieved winds.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Wind Field Retrieval From Co-Polarized SAR Imagery Without External Wind Direction Assistance
The geophysical model function for sea surface wind speed retrieval from co-polarized synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images typically requires wind direction as prior information. Obtaining wind direction relies directly or indirectly on external sources,

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Simultaneous Wind and Rain Retrieval using Seawinds Data [PDF]
The Sea Winds scatterometer is designed primarily to retrieve winds over the ocean. Since the deployment of Sea Winds on QuikSCAT in 1999, rain corruption in wind measurements has been recognized as one of the largest contributors to wind retrieval error.

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...
