Airborne lidar observations supporting the ADM-Aeolus mission for global wind profiling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Atmospheric Dynamics Mission ADM-Aeolus of ESA will be the first lidar mission to sense the global wind field from space. The instrument is based on a direct-detection Doppler lidar operating at 354.9 nm with two spectrometers for aerosol/cloud ...

The ADM-Aeolus wind retrieval algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesTellus A: Dynamic Meteorology and Oceanography, 2008
The ADM-Aeolus is primarily a research and demonstration mission flying the first Doppler wind lidar in space. Flexible data processing tools are being developed for use in the operational ground segment and by the meteorological community. We present the algorithms developed to retrieve accurate and representative wind profiles, suitable for ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Simulation of Mesosphere Wind Measurement with Multiple Emission Lines of the O2(0-1) Band Using Space-Based Doppler Asymmetric Spatial Heterodyne

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
For space-based atmospheric wind measurements, full-link simulation is critical for the optimization of the instrument indicators and the evaluation of the measurements’ performance.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

A two-parameter wind speed algorithm for Ku-band altimeters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Globally distributed crossovers of altimeter and scatterometer observations clearly demonstrate that ocean altimeter backscatter correlates with both the near-surface wind speed and the sea state.

Wind retrieval of Fabry-Perot interferometer in the middle and upper atmosphere using wavelength depth method based on satellite-based simulation and ground-based measurement

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2020
The satellite-based observations of the Fabry-Perot Interferometer interference ring in the middle and upper atmosphere (80–300 km) are simulated, which include the 557.7 nm, 630.0 nm, and O2 (0–0) airglows.

An assessment of SeaWinds on QuikSCAT wind retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 2002
The scatterometer ocean wind retrieval process produces several possible solutions or ambiguities at each point, requiring a separate ambiguity selection step to infer a unique wind vector field. An ambiguity selection error occurs when the selected wind vector is not the closest ambiguity to the true wind.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.
