Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Validation and Evaluation of the China Meteorological Administration Wind Energy and Solar Energy Forecasting System (CMA-WSP) in Short-Term Wind Resource Forecasting

open access: yes南方能源建设
[Introduction] To test the reliability of the CMA-WSP wind speed product in short-term wind resource forecasting, the CMA-WSP 3 d wind speed forecasting product with a wind speed of 100 m is tested and analyzed.

Combining hydro-generation and wind energy biddings and operation on electricity spot markets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Wind generation is growing rapidly in all the world, especially in Europe. The power produced by this kind of generation is difficult to predict and the predictions are not very accurate. In most systems these imbalances are costly.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

A Hybrid Forecasting Method for Wind Speed [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Wind energy is one of the most widely used renewable energy sources. Wind power generation is uncertain because of the intermittent of wind power. To reduce the influence of wind power generation on the power system, it is necessary to forecast wind speed.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Predictive control of wind turbines by considering wind speed forecasting techniques

open access: yes, 2009
A wind turbine system is operated such that the points of wind rotor curve and electrical generator curve coincide. In order to obtain maximum power output of a wind turbine generator system, it is necessary to drive the wind turbine at an optimal rotor ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

A New Hybrid ARAR and Neural Network Model for Multi-Step Ahead Wind Speed Forecasting in Three Regions of Pakistan

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Wind is one of the most essential sources of clean, environmental friendly, socially constructive, economically beneficial, and renewable energy. To intuit the potential of this energy in a region the accurate wind speed modeling and forecasting are ...
