Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Calculation and Analysis of Rotor Thermal Static Field for Inter-Turn Short Circuit of Large Hydro-Generator Excitation Winding

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Rotor winding inter-turn short circuit a common fault in hydro-generators. This fault would change the temperature, stress, and other thermal fields of a rotor and threaten the safe operation of the generator.

Notes on Non-Critical Superstrings in Various Dimensions

open access: yes, 2003
We study non-critical superstrings propagating in $d \le 6$ dimensional Minkowski space or equivalently, superstrings propagating on the two-dimensional Euclidean black hole tensored with d-dimensional Minkowski space.

SO(32) Spinors of Type I and Other Solitons on Brane-Antibrane Pair [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We construct the SO(32) spinor state in weakly coupled type I string theory as a kink solution of the tachyon field on the D-string - anti-D-string pair and calculate its mass.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Power transformer geometry monitoring of active parts by SFRA method [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Radova: Elektrotehnički Institut "Nikola Tesla", 2014
During regular operation, power transformer windings are continuously exposed to electromechanical stresses and vibrations. Surges during lightning or short circuits may cause the weakening of the mechanical structure and the mechanical reinforcing parts

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Evaluation of the Capacitance State of Autotransformer Based on TCN and LSTM Network Structures

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering
This study introduces a method to evaluate the capacitance state of transformer windings using TCN and LSTM network structures, to solve the problem of winding deformation caused by factors such as insulation structure, ambient temperature, operating ...
