Vanishing Windows—a technique for adaptive window management

Interacting with Computers, 2000
Abstract Windowing system offer many benefits to users, such as being able to work on multiple tasks concurrently; or working with a number of windows, each connected to different remote machines or applications. Unless these windows are managed efficiently, users can easily become overwhelmed by the number of windows currently open and begin to lose

Windowing techniques for image restoration

CVGIP: Graphical Models and Image Processing, 1991
Summary: The large errors observed in inverse filter on Wiener filter restorations of images are mainly due to the fact that only a truncated region of image data is available for processing. In the earlier literature, it was suggested that the well-known time-series windows may be generalized for treating these errors.

Exploring new window manipulation techniques

Proceedings of the 21st Annual Conference of the Australian Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group: Design: Open 24/7, 2009
Moving and resizing desktop windows are frequently performed but largely unexplored interaction tasks. The standard title bar and border dragging techniques used for window manipulation have not changed much over the years. We studied three new methods to move and resize windows.

A Novel Peak-Windowing Technique for WCDMA Systems

2006 IEEE 63rd Vehicular Technology Conference, 2006
In Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA), the high crest factor (CF) in the downlink signal has imposed a tight requirement on the linearity characteristic of the transmitter power amplifiers (PAs). This paper proposes a new peak-windowing technique to reduce the CF of a WCDMA signal.

State-of-the-Art in the Windowing Technique

Canadian International Petroleum Conference, 2001
Abstract The windowing technique was introduced in 1993 by Heinemann and Deimbacher (Ref 9). This method allows a locally restricted and time-dependent replacement of grids and parameters during simulation runs. Windows can represent any area of special interest in a reservoir.

“Window to Window”: A Variant Technique of Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Obesity Surgery
Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) may present many technical modifications depending on the surgeon. However, no significant variation was noted in the chronological order of the surgical steps in the current technique. We present the "Window to Window," a variant LSG technique. The technique, introduced in our institution in 2007, requires three ...

State-of-the-Art of the Windowing Technique

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 2004
Abstract The windowing technique was first introduced by Heinemann and Deimbacher(1) in 1993. This method allows a locally restricted and time-dependent replacement of grids and parameters during simulation runs. Windows can represent any area of special interest in a reservoir. In most cases, this

Window operation: New technique for hydrocele

Urology, 1984
The conventional curvative surgical procedure for hydrocele, eversion of sac (with or without partial excision of sac), still remains the most popular one for hydrocele. My new technique which I call the “window operation” is better than the conventional procedure because it eliminates several disadvantages of the former procedure.
