Recursive Fourier transform algorithms with integrated windowing
Signal Processing, 2007Recursive signal spectrum estimation algorithms based on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) are presented in this paper. Unlike other methods of DFT evaluation, the recursive method updates the spectrum coefficients instead of calculating them from the beginning each time. Some difficulties with windowing are associated with this solution.

Improving Harmonic Phase Imaging by the Windowed Fourier Transform
2011 IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging: From Nano to Macro, 2011This work proposes a new methodology for the extraction of Harmonic Phase images in cardiac tagged Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The procedure draws upon the use of the Windowed Fourier Transform, which provides a spatially varying representation of the signal spectra.

Windowed Fourier transform for fringe pattern analysis
Applied Optics, 2004Fringe patterns in optical metrology systems need to be demodulated to yield the desired parameters. Time-frequency analysis is a useful concept for fringe demodulation, and a windowed Fourier transform is chosen for the determination of phase and phase derivative.

Frames and Orthonormal Bases for Variable Windowed Fourier Transforms.
1996 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 1996The Gabor transform (or the windowed Fourier transform) is a widely used tool in signal processing. We generalize the windowed Fourier transform to the variable-windowed Fourier transform. This generalization brings the Gabor transform and the wavelet transform under the same framework.

Sliding fourier transform with generalized triangular windows
2015 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan, 2015In this paper, we propose an algorithm to compute time-dependent Fourier transform (TDFT) with generalized triangular window. The algorithm recursively computes the TDFT at arbitrary frequency with integrated triangular windowing. A common way to compute TDFT with window is to firstly multiply the input data by the window function and then carry out ...

Fourier series are ideal for analyzing periodic signals, since the harmonic modes used in the expansions are themselves periodic. By contrast, the Fourier integral transform is a far less natural tool because it uses periodic functions to expand nonperiodic signals.

On Superoscillations Longevity: A Windowed Fourier Transform Approach
2014In this paper we prove that the evolution of a superoscillating sequence of functions Y N (x), which we take as the initial value of the Schrodinger equation, remains superoscillating for all values of the time ...

Binary windows for the discrete Fourier transform
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1975An efficient structure is suggested for the frequency-domain windowing of discrete Fourier transforms. In this scheme, multiplications are replaced by shifts in the position of the binary point. Three new window functions are described which can be realized by the suggested structure.
