Second‐ and Third‐Order Elastic Constants of Inert and Energetic Molecular Crystals From Density Functional Theory

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Complete tensors of the second‐ and third‐order elastic constants of the organic molecular crystals acetaminophen, pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX), cyclotetramethylene tetranitramine (HMX), 1,1‐diamino‐2,2‐dinitroethylene (FOX‐7), hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (CL‐20), and erythritol tetranitrate (ETN)

Hypericin and resveratrol anti‐tumor impact through E‐cadherin, N‐cadherin, galectin‐3, and BAX/BCL‐ratio; possible cancer immunotherapy succor on Y79 retinoblastoma cells

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Hypericin and Resveratrol can be proposed as beneficial accompanying reagents in cancer immunotherapy and retinoblastoma treatment. Abstract One of the detrimental features of retinoblastoma is highly invasiveness of this type of cancer; the ability to metastasize into distal organs even in the early stages. This phenomenon highlights the importance of

A deletion upstream of the degron of AcIAA27 leads to auxinic herbicide resistance in Arctotheca calendula

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
An in‐frame deletion was identified in AcIAA27, compared to the susceptible population, which confer resistance to both 2,4‐D and dicamba. Abstract BACKGROUND Two populations of Arctotheca calendula (capeweed) from near Naracoorte, South Australia, were not controlled by 2,4‐D. These populations were investigated for resistance to 2,4‐D and other auxin

Semiochemical applications for managing the grey field slug (Deroceras reticulatum Müller), a major pest of arable crops

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Trends in semiochemical research highlight promising attractants and repellents for ‘push–pull’ pest control strategies of the grey field slug. Extracts from plants, predators, entomopathogenic fungi, and essential oils demonstrate potential in modifying grey field slug behaviour, inducing avoidance, antifeeding responses, or mortality, offering ...

Trapping is not effective for limiting damage by Vespa velutina in vineyards

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Vespa velutina is an invasive hornet that damages grapes. Baited traps are commonly used to mitigate them, but trap effectiveness in vineyards has not been tested. Our study found no significant reduction in damage from trapping, and high and variable by‐catch rates. Sustainable vineyard management methods should be explored.

Evaluation of electrolyzed water to control fungal trunk pathogens in grapevine nurseries

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1740-1751, April 2025.
Electrolyzed water treatments could have promising applications in the grapevine nursery process to prevent or reduce infections caused by fungal trunk pathogens on grapevine propagation material. Abstract BACKGROUND Grapevine producers demand solutions to control fungal trunk pathogens (FTPs) in nurseries.
