Comparison of Solutions to the Bending Problems of Three-Layer Plates on the Winkler and Pasternak Foundations

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2021
Solutions of problems on axisymmetric bending of an elastic three-layer circular plate on the Winkler and Pasternak foundations are given. The bearing layers are taken as isotropic, for which Kirchhoff’s hypotheses are fulfilled.

Local buckling of thin plate on tensionless elastic foundations under interactive uniaxial compression and shear

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2018
: This paper uses a mathematical method to develop an analytical solution to the local buckling behaviour of long rectangular plates resting on tensionless elastic Winkler foundations and under combined uniform longitudinal uniaxial compressive and ...

Effects of partially supported elastic foundation on free vibration of FGP plates using ES-MITC3 elements

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2022
The main goal of this article further extends the ES-MITC3 element based on first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) for the free vibration analysis of functionally graded porous (FGP) plates resting on the partially supported elastic foundation (PSEF)

A Simple Algorithm for Analyzing a Piled Raft by Considering Stress Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesCivil Engineering Infrastructures Journal, 2014
Numerous techniques have been presented by different researchers to analyze piled raft. In order to analyze pile foundation, soil can be modeled as spring, continuous medium, or porous media. Pile can also be modeled as spring or continuous medium.

Hollow Core Slabs on Winkler Foundation

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Technological Sciences, 2018
This research dealt with the linear elastic behavior of hollow core slabs resting on a linear Winkler type foundation. A finite difference method was used to model the slabs as wide beams and the foundation as elastic springs. The finite element method was also used to model the problem using ABAQUS 6.10 software program.
