Winter hardiness in trench celery
Euphytica, 1967A total of 51 red and white commercial varieties of trench celery were grown and examined for winter hardiness at the National Vegetable Research Station. Although some plants of most varieties survived the winter, none showed a commercially useful degree of winter hardiness, in that none were marketable after moderate frost.

Euphytica, 1994A comprehensive collection of local fodder grass populations was carried out in the northern regions of Norway in 1972 and 1973. The main purpose was to find ecotypes with extreme winter hardiness. This paper gives results from experiments carried out with some of the timothy populations collected.

A Study of Cold Hardiness of Winter Barley
Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science (1903-), 1961has been customary to express the amounts of the various fractions as percent of fresh weight (2, 3). Pauli and Mitchell (6) concluded that such an expression may be misleading with some tissues, since the moisture content of wheat plants decreased when plants were grown at a low temperature.

1986Winter hardiness is one of the main factors affecting harvestable yields in winter oats. As breeding for high yields is generally accompanied by reduced winter hardiness, the possible beneficial effects of applying an experimental plant growth regulator (pgr) as a seed dressing were investigated in a pot experiment.
