Reaction Mechanism, Challenges, and Strategies of High‐Energy‐Density Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Focusing on high‐energy‐density sodium‐ion batteries, this review highlights the advantages offered by conversion‐type cathode materials. The currently studied cathode materials are systematically introduced. By analyzing sulfur, oxygen, and transition metal halides and other conversion‐type cathodes, the key challenges associated with these cathodes ...

Designing Ductile 2‐GPa Yielding Titanium Alloys via Multifunctional Subgrain Boundaries and Nanoprecipitates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By engineering ultrafine β‐subgrains and nanoscale α‐precipitates in titanium alloys, the unique architecture achieves an unprecedented ultra‐high strength of 2 GPa while maintaining a notable uniform elongation of 6%, a combination that is both rare and highly promising for structural applications of titanium alloys.

Accelerated Discovery of Topological Conductors for Nanoscale Interconnects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Copper interconnects exhibit a sharp increase in resistivity at ultra‐scaled dimensions, threatening continued miniaturization of integrated circuits. The gapless surface states of topological semimetals provide conduction channels resistant to localization.

Additive manufacturing of a bridge in situ [PDF]

open access: yes
Additive manufacturing (AM) is playing an increasing role in the production of complex steel structures. Robot‐ or machine‐guided gas‐shielded metal arc welding (GMAW), known as wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM), is suitable for this purpose.

Dual‐Responsive Yarn‐Based Artificial Muscles for Adaptive Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the conscious movements of skeletal muscle, a novel hybrid yarn‐based artificial muscle (HYAM) coupling moisture actuation with controllable recovery is developed. This unique design increases actuation stroke by 128% and shortens recovery time by 91%. This unique design enhances the actuation stroke by 128% and reduces the recovery time by

A Laminating Strategy to Manyfold Enhance the Elastic Stretchability of Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We propose a laminating strategy that laminates a thick‐polymer layer onto the thin‐ribbon metallic structure. Using serpentine structures on soft and hard substrates as representative cases, this approach increases elastic stretchability by 3.5‐fold and 2.3‐fold.
