Effect of Gold Nanoparticles as Co‐Catalyst on WO3/Cu2O Heterojunction Photoelectrodes to Enhance Light‐Driven CO2 Conversion Efficiency

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, Volume 10, Issue 7, July 2026.
The Ti/WO3/Cu2O/Au photoelectrode promotes efficient charge separation through a heterojunction structure, mainly when irradiated with a blue light LED, while Au acts as a cocatalyst and electron sink, enhancing interfacial charge transfer and improving the photoelectrocatalytic conversion of CO2 into methanol and methane.

Conditional knockout of membrane‐type I matrix metalloproteinase in smooth muscle cells of adult mice alleviates atherosclerosis without affecting basic cardiovascular function

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Expression of smooth muscle cell‐specific MMP14 increases with atherosclerosis progression in humans. Inducible conditional knockout of SMC‐MMP14 in adult mice does not affect cardiac or vascular function. Inducible conditional knockout of SMC‐MMP14 in adult Ldlr−/− mice decreases atherosclerosis progression, increases plaque stability and accelerates ...

Multi‐Dimensional Conductive Nanocomposites for Flexible Electronics

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Multi‐dimensional conductive nanocomposites integrate 0D, 1D, and 2D nanomaterials through spatial structure regulation and interface engineering, achieving “1 + 1 > 2” synergistic effects. By leveraging 0D filling to reduce contact resistance, 1D bridging to construct continuous conductive paths, and 2D supporting to enhance mechanical stability ...

Corrosion and Degradation of Materials in Marine Environments: Implications for Coastal and Offshore Infrastructure

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study presents a failure‐oriented analysis of corrosion in marine infrastructure, linking degradation mechanisms to crack initiation, fatigue propagation, and structural failure. A unified framework is proposed to connect environmental exposure, material degradation, and reliability, supporting failure prediction, inspection planning, and life ...
