Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Emergent Motility of Self‐Organized Particle‐Giant Unilamellar Vesicle Assembly
Advanced Materials, EarlyView.Giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), when combined with silica particles under alternating electric fields, spontaneously self‐assemble into motile structures. Asymmetric particle decoration induces fluid flows that propel the assemblies, enabling persistent motion and reversible control.

Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.A mechanochemical Kolbe–Schmitt reaction of disodium catecholate enables the synthesis of mono‐ and dicarboxylated catechols at low temperature and CO2 pressure. Directly derivatizing the resulting carboxylic acid and phenolic moieties in the obtained mixture provides plasticizer blends with efficiencies competitive to commercial benchmarks.
