Network based approach identifies miR‐145‐3p as a central regulatory hub associated to the progression from localized to metastatic medullary thyroid carcinoma

Abstract Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a neuroendocrine tumor originating from calcitonin producing C‐cells and accounts for 1–5% of thyroid cancers. Total thyroidectomy is curative in localized disease (N0), whereas lymph node metastases (N1) are associated with poorer prognosis.

Abstract Accurate detection of lymph node (LN) metastases is critical for prognosis and surgical decision‐making in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and other epithelial cancers. Detection‐Dog‐Guided Camera Placement Increases Efficiency of Surveys for Long‐Tailed Weasels (Neogale frenata) 利用探测犬引导布设相机可提升长尾鼬调查效率

By comparing widespread surveys with randomly placed cameras to a protocol pairing detection dogs with cameras, we found that the detection‐dog‐guided camera survey had approximately 33 times greater detections with fewer camera nights and reduced survey costs. Distinct waterbird species influence nutrient cycling through guano contributions in Great Lakes coastal wetlands. Waterbird‐derived nutrients favour distinct algal communities and wetland sediments rapidly remove waterbird nutrients via biogeochemical processes.
