Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Deep Container Fabrication by Forging with High- and Low-Density Wood

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
This paper presents a method for applying forging to high-density wood. A cylindrical container was formed using a closed die, and the appropriate conditions for temperature and punch length were evaluated.

METHODS OF DNA ISOLATION FROM FRESH WOOD FOR MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS IN FRUIT GROWING [METODY IZOLACE DNA Z ČERSTVÉ DŘEVNÍ HMOTY PRO ÚČELY MOLEKULÁRNÍ DIAGNOSTIKY V OVOCNÁŘSTVÍ] [PDF]

open access: yesVědecké Práce Ovocnářské
DNA was isolated from fresh wood tissue of apricot tree trunks (Prunus armeniaca L.) using three different commercial kits (manufacturers GeneAll, Zymo Research, Wizbiosolutions) and two methods of mechanical homogenization of wood chips (liquid nitrogen

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Le bois entre nature et surnature. Pommiers et sapins, aubépines et coudriers

open access: yesStudia Romanica Posnaniensia
Wood, even when cut from its stalk and thus from its nourishing sap, does not wither. It is perhaps this astonishing quality that makes it not only a sacrificial fuel of choice, but also the vector par excellence of all regeneration, resurrection and ...

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
