Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Effect of intensive planting density on tree growth, wood density and fiber properties of maple (Acer velutinum Boiss.)

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2016
Planting density is a major factor in determining tree growth and wood quality. Although the effect of low planting density on the variation of tree and wood characteristics has been already reported, the effect of intensive initial densities in ...

INFLUENCE OF SOIL TYPE ON WOOD DENSITY AND MEAN ANNUAL INCREMENT IN TWO COMMERCIAL Eucalyptus CLONES

open access: yesRevista do Instituto Florestal, 2020
In forest plantations, the productive potential of a given site results from the interaction between genetic materials and environmental conditions. Both are fundamental factors for wood quality and Mean Annual Increment.

Wood density profiles and their corresponding tissue fractions in tropical angiosperm trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Wood density profiles reveal a tree's life strategy and growth. Density profiles are, however, rarely defined in terms of tissue fractions for wood of tropical angiosperm trees. Here, we aim at linking these fractions to corresponding density profiles of

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Wood Basic Density Assessment of Eucalyptus Genotypes Growing under Contrasting Water Availability Conditions [PDF]

open access: yes
Limited research exists on wood properties in E. nitens × E. globulus hybrid genotypes grown in water-limited conditions generated by the climate change influence in Mediterranean areas.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Comparação entre dois métodos de avaliação da variabilidade genética em volume, densidade básica da madeira e matéria seca de Pinus tecunumanii (Schwd) Eguiluz e Perry

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2004
Eighty-four trees, of seven open-pollinated families from the Mountain Pine Ridge (MPR), Belize provenance of Pinus tecunumanii (Schwd) Eguiluz e Perry were assessed for volume growth, wood density and dry matter at 12 and 17 years of age at Planaltina,
