Influence of bio fillers on the characteristics of Luffa acutangula fiber reinforced polymer composites and parametric optimization using Taguchi technique

open access: yesScientific Reports
Developing novel materials is an essential requirement in the engineering field. This study investigates the effects of incorporating wood dust particles on the mechanical and erosive wear properties of Luffa acutangula fiber (LAF)-reinforced phenol ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

Assessment of Combustion and Potash Production as Options for Management of Wood Waste

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2010
This study assessed combustion and potash production as options for management of wood waste. The percentage reduction in volume by combustion and potash generation potential of wood waste from nine different common species of wood obtained from a wood ...

Wood dust exposure and risk of sinonasal cancer development

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2020
Introduction:The incidence of sinonasal cancers (SNCs) is quite rare; they contribute to 0,16% of all malignant tumors and to 3% among head and neck cancers. The survival rate remains poor - it is 59.5% for 5 years.

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

Corals and Reef‐Dwelling Fish Regulate Carbon Storage and Cycling Processes in Coral Reef Ecosystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coral reefs are biodiversity hotspots, yet their role in carbon storage and cycling remains poorly understood. Using field surveys and modeling in the South China Sea, we reveal the overlooked potential of carbon storage in reef ecosystems and how reef fish, corals, and surface sediment jointly shape reef carbon reservoirs.

A Hydrogen‐Releasing Nanozyme Engineers a Mitochondrial ROS Amplifier for Self‐Sustaining Catalytic Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a RhPd‐H nanozyme that integrates enhanced POD‐mimetic catalytic activity with thermally triggered H2 release. H2 shields and reprograms mitochondria to continuously leak endogenous ·O2−. This dual‐path ROS spatially and temporally disrupts redox homeostasis, inducing persistent oxidative stress for tumor suppression and antitumor immunity,

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Photodynamic Priming and Minocycline Overcome Chemoresistance by Reprogramming the Pancreatic Tumor Immune Microenvironment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual priming with minocycline and photodynamic priming reprograms the pancreatic tumor microenvironment to overcome chemoresistance. By suppressing DNA repair enzyme Tdp1, inducing photooxidative damage, and enhancing irinotecan delivery via light‐activated nanoencapsulation, this strategy remodels the tumor microenvironment and drives immune ...
