スギ交配家系の胸高直径および基礎的材質指標(辺材部および心材部における容積密度と生材含水率およびヤング率)の遺伝的母数について,17年生の次代検定林(3反復,21組み合わせ)の間伐木で評価した。各交配家系の材質調査結果について分散共分散分析を行い,狭義の遺伝率,表現型相関および遺伝相関を計算した。分散分析の結果,雌親間および雄親間ではほとんどの材質に有意差がみられたが,反復×組み合わせおよび雌親×雄親における交互作用はヤング率のみで有意差がみられた。狭義の遺伝率は,辺材部と心材部の容積密度およびヤング率において0.2前後であったが,生材含水率では低い値を示した。遺伝相関は,表現型相関に比べてほとんどの材質間で密接な関係を示したが,ある材質の改良が必ずしも他の材質を改良するとは限らなかった ...

本研究では,実生スギ(Cryptomeria japonica)における,成長初期の晩材仮道管S2 層ミクロフィブリル傾角(MFA)を用いて成熟材部のヤング率(MOE)の早期評価の可能性を検討するため,平坦地に植栽された45年生実生スギの材質特性を調べた。晩材仮道管長及びMFAの半径方向変動パターンを調べた結果,髄から21~24年輪目が未成熟材と成熟材の境界と考えられた。また,MFAとMOE及び比MOE(MOE/気乾密度)との間において,それぞれ,相関係数r=-0.747及びr=-0.889の有意な相関関係が認められた。さらに,3年輪目のMFAと成熟材部に相当する26~35年輪部位の平均MOE及び比MOEとの間に,それぞれ,相関係数r=-0.556及びr=-0.623の有意な相関関係が認められた ...
