Attention and automation: New perspectives on mental underload and performance [PDF]
There is considerable evidence in the ergonomics literature that automation can significantly reduce operator mental workload. Furthermore, reducing mental workload is not necessarily a good thing, particularly in cases where the level is already ...

Anisotropic Memristive Switching in NbOCl2 Enabled by Directional Oxygen Ion Migration
This study investigates strongly orientation‐dependent memristive switching in anisotropic NbOCl2, observed exclusively along the in‐plane c‐axis. The switching originates from direction‐selective oxygen‐ion migration and vacancy propagation that modulate the Pd/NbOCl2 Schottky barrier, enabling short‐term plasticity.

The acute: Chronic workload ratio predicts injury: High chronic workload may decrease injury risk in elite rugby league players [PDF]
Aim Investigate whether acute workload (1 week total distance) and chronic workload (4-week average acute workload) predict injury in elite rugby league players. Methods Data were collected from 53 elite players over two rugby league seasons.

Stress on the Ward – An Empirical Study of the Nonlinear Relationship between Organizational Workload and Service Quality [PDF]
We discuss the impact of organizational workload on professional service outcomes, such as survival rates in hospitals. The prevailing view in the literature is that service quality deteriorates when organizational workload increases.
