Strings in a wormhole background [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1995
Exact solutions of the string equations of motion in a specific Lorentzian wormhole background are obtained. These include both closed and open string configurations. Perturbations about some of these configurations are investigated using the manifestly covariant formalism of Larsen and Frolov.

Rotation effects on the graphene wormhole energy levels

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
In this work, we are interested in how spinning effects influence the electronic properties of the graphene wormhole. For this purpose, we have described the graphene by wormhole background based on the model developed by González and his co-workers.

Deflection Angle of Photons through Dark Matter by Black Holes and Wormholes Using Gauss–Bonnet Theorem

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
In this research, we used the Gibbons–Werner method (Gauss–Bonnet theorem) on the optical geometry of a black hole and wormhole, extending the calculation of weak gravitational lensing within the Maxwell’s fish eye-like profile and dark-

Pore‐Scale Modeling of Fracture Evolution Driven by Dual‐Mineral Dissolution With Contrasting Reactivity and Morphology

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Predictive models for reactive flow in fractured media often adopt single‐mineral simplifications, neglecting feedback between mineralogical heterogeneity and hydrological evolution. This study investigates the pore‐scale dynamics of fracture evolution in dual‐mineral systems characterized by contrasting mineral reactivities and morphologies ...

Dependence of Mineral Dissolution Rates on Two‐Phase Hydrodynamics in Single Pores

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Multiphase flow and mineral reactions co‐exist in many subsurface systems, and thus elucidating and quantifying the impacts of multiphase flow on mineral reaction rates are crucial. Our study established a benchmark experiment on calcite dissolution in cylindrical pores in slug flow, and performed a series of simulations using a validated pore‐

Rotating traversable wormholes in AdS

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
In this work we explore the effect of rotation in the size of a traversable wormhole obtained via a double trace boundary deformation. We find that at fixed temperature the size of the wormhole increases with the angular momentum J/M ℓ.

Advances in Solid‐Phase Processing Techniques: Innovations, Applications, and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
Based on practical manufacturing challenges, this review examines advanced solid‐phase processing techniques that overcome the inherent limitations of conventional melting‐based and traditional solid‐phase manufacturing, enabling the production of higher‐performance components at reduced cost through process innovation and improved supply‐chain ...

WORMHOLES AND CHILD UNIVERSES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2010
Evidence to the case that classical gravitation provides the clue to make sense out of quantum gravity is presented. The key observation is the existence in classical gravitation of child universe solutions or "almost" solutions, "almost" because of some singularity problems.

Deforming the Double‐Scaled SYK and Reaching the Stretched Horizon From Finite Cutoff Holography

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the properties of the double‐scaled SYK (DSSYK) model under chord Hamiltonian deformations based on finite cutoff holography for general dilaton gravity theories with Dirichlet boundaries. The formalism immediately incorporates a lower‐dimensional analog of TT¯(+Λ2)$\text{T}\overline{\text{T}}(+\Lambda _2)$ deformations, denoted T2 ...
