Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Robotic mechanical wounding is sufficient to induce phenylacetaldoxime accumulation in Tococa quadrialata

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior
This study investigated the accumulation of phenlyacetaldoxime (PAOx) and PAOx-Glc in Tococa quadrialata leaves in response to herbivore infestation and mechanical wounding.

Wounding triggers callus formation via dynamic hormonal and transcriptional changes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Wounding is a primary trigger of organ regeneration, but how wound stress reactivates cell proliferation and promotes cellular reprogramming remains elusive.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Experimental Induction of Extreme Indented Growth Rings (Hazel Wood) in Pinus halepensis Miller by Wide and Long Parallel Bark and Vascular Cambium Woundings

open access: yesPlants
Indented growth rings were found long ago to be experimentally induced in Pinus halepensis Miller by thin parallel axial scratching of the bark up to the vascular cambium with a sharp blade.

Stress-Triggered Long-Distance Communication Leads to Phenotypic Plasticity: The Case of the Early Root Protoxylem Maturation Induced by Leaf Wounding in Arabidopsis

open access: yesPlants, 2018
Root architecture and xylem phenotypic plasticity influence crop productivity by affecting water and nutrient uptake, especially under those environmental stress, which limit water supply or imply excessive water losses.

Dynamic changes in connexin expression correlate with key events in the wound healing process. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Wound healing is a complex process requiring communication for the precise co-ordination of different cell types. The role of extracellular communication through growth factors in the wound healing process has been extensively documented, but the role of

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Characterizing the Palm Pathogenic Thielaviopsis Species from Florida

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Thielaviopsis paradoxa sensu lato is a soilborne fungal pathogen that causes Thielaviopsis trunk rot and heart rot in palms. The loss of structural integrity resulting from trunk rot can cause the palm trunk to collapse suddenly and poses a serious ...
