Wrinkling of a bilayer membrane [PDF]
The buckling of elastic bodies is a common phenomenon in the mechanics of solids. Wrinkling of membranes can often be interpreted as buckling under constraints that prohibit large amplitude deformation.

Analysis of Experimental Biaxial Surface Wrinkling Pattern Based on Direct 3D Numerical Simulation
This paper presents a direct 3D numerical simulation of biaxial surface wrinkling of thin metal film on a compliant substrate. The selected compliant substrate is a commercial Scotch tape on which a gold metal thin film has been transferred by using low ...

Aquagenic Wrinkling of Palms: A Case Report [PDF]
Aquagenic wrinkling of the palms is a rare skin condition characterised by rapid wrinkling of the palms after water exposure, occurring within 2-4 minutes, compared to the normal physiological response which takes about 11 minutes.

Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Wrinkling Behaviors of Inflated Membrane Airship Structures
In this paper, the wrinkling behavior of an inflated cantilever beam is presented. An analytical solution for the load-bearing capacity of an inflated beam is proposed to predict the ultimate wrinkling force and critical wrinkling force of the inflated ...

Wrinkling criteria in sheet metal forming for single sided contact situation and its application [PDF]
The general wrinkling theory based on the rate formulation of the principle of virtual work has been applied in a number of studies on wrinkling during sheet metal forming. No contact with the die was allowed.

The origin of compression influences geometric instabilities in bilayers [PDF]
Geometric instabilities in bilayered structures control the surface morphology in a wide range of biological and technical systems. Depending on the application, different mechanisms induce compressive stresses in the bilayer.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
