Interactive System for Hands and Wrist Rehabilitation
2018An Interactive system is presented for the rehabilitation of hands and wrists using the leap motion device and the Unity3D software. Two applications were created with several movements were by programming such as flexion, wrist extension, pronation, supination and adduction.

Rehabilitation of Common Athletic Injuries of the Hand and Wrist
Clinics in Sports Medicine, 1989Rehabilitation of athletic injuries of the hand and wrist should begin at the time of injury. Early recognition and prompt medical attention can serve to minimize the initial effects of injury. A systematic evaluation should include assessment of deformity, joint instability, active and passive motion, edema, and nerve and tendon function.

A Low-Cost Haptic System for Wrist Rehabilitation
2015 IEEE International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration, 2015While the regular treatment for wrist stiffness is physical therapy or surgery, researchers are looking for an alternative, more efficient and automatic procedure by means of robotic applications. In this paper, we propose a low-cost system exploiting a haptic interface aided by a glove sensorized on the wrist allowing the identification of the wrist ...

REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES FOR LIGAMENT INJURIES OF THE WRIST
Hand Clinics, 1992The goal of treatment after any wrist injury is a pain-free, stable joint with sufficient strength and mobility to carry out the daily recreational, and occupational tasks required by the individual. Treatment varies considerably depending on the age of the patient, the severity of the initial injury, the operative procedure performed, and the specific

Augmented reality based wrist rehabilitation system
2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016Physioterapy is a long period that becomes a part of the life of people who need it. Today, the new touchless sensors have positive influence on the comfort of the rehabilitation and healing period. In addition, with the virtual/augmented reality technology, these processes are expected to be relatively more advanced.

Development of IoT-based robot for wrist rehabilitation
2020 17th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2020A robotic solution based on the internet of things (IoT) for home wrist rehabilitation is developed. The proposed architecture allows remote control by gesture. The movement of the wrist performed by the physiotherapist is detected by a Kinect camera before being communicated to the developed human-machine interface (HMI). The Kinect image is processed

SMA based wrist exoskeleton for rehabilitation therapy
2018 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2018This paper presents a rehabilitation wearable exoskeleton for wrist joint with two degrees of freedom (DOF), flexion-extension and adduction-abduction (radial and ulnar deviation), actuated with Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) based actuators. Thanks to this type of actuators, the proposed device presents a very light weight and noiseless operation, in ...

Development of wrist rehabilitation robot and interface system
Technology and Health Care, 2015The authors have developed a practical wrist rehabilitation robot for hemiplegic patients. It consists of a mechanical rotation unit, sensor, grip, and computer system. A myoelectric sensor is used to monitor the extensor carpi radialis longus/brevis muscle and flexor carpi radialis muscle activity during training.

EARLY MOTION PROTOCOLS IN HAND AND WRIST REHABILITATION
Hand Clinics, 1996Early motion programs establish gliding, decrease unwanted adhesions, and enhance the healing process and return to normal function of injuries. This article elaborates on how to best incorporate early motion programs into the rehabilitation process.
