Evaluation of Gradient Descriptors and Dissimilarity Learning for Writer Retrieval
2018 Eighth International Conference on Information Science and Technology (ICIST), 2018In order to take advantage from collections of digitized handwritten documents, effective indexing and retrieval techniques are required. This work focuses on automatic writer retrieval, which is the task of finding in a dataset, all documents written by the same person.

2020 IEEE/ACS 17th International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA), 2020
The present work focuses on combining Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) features to strengthen the writer retrieval in historical document databases. Various CNN models that are LeNet, ResNet, and VGG are used to get writer-independent features of handwritten documents. These features are associated with dissimilarity measures to achieve the retrieval

Writer Retrieval Using Histogram Of Templates Features and SVM
2018In this work, we present a new protocol for a novel biometric scenario that is called writer retrieval. Precisely, we propose to use the Histogram Of Templates (HOT) to generate features from handwritten text images. Then, the retrieval task is achieved by SVM classifier trained according to a writer independent strategy.

Use of Full Text, Database Retrieval Systems by Editorial Page Writers
Newspaper Research Journal, 1987Have the recently introduced outside database, full text retrieval systems helped alleviate editorial page writers' time pressure problems? This study surveyed database retrieval use by 40 writers identified as employees of newspapers that had systems. Results showed 73% of the writers agreed or strongly agreed that lack of time to do adequate research

Handwriting Analysis with Focus on Writer Identification and Writer Retrieval.
2019In the course of the mass digitization of historical as well as contemporary sources, an individual examination by means of historical or forensic experts is no longer feasible. A solution could be an automatic handwriting analysis that determines or suggests script attributes, such as the writer or the date of a document.

Writer Based Handwritten Document Image Retrieval Using Contourlet Transform
2011Many techniques have been reported for handwritten based document image retrieval. This paper proposes a novel method by using Contourlet Transform (CT) for feature extraction of document images which achieves high retrieval rate. The handwriting of different people is often visually distinctive; we take a global approach based on texture analysis ...

Graph Neural Networks for Writer Identification and Retrieval
Schreiberidentifizierung (Writer Identification) zielt darauf ab, ein handschriftliches Dokument seinem korrekten Autor zuzuordnen, während Schreibersuche (Writer Retrieval) darauf abzielt, Dokumente desselben Autors aus einer Datenbank abzurufen. Während aktuelle State-of-the-Art-Ansätze auf Dokumentenebene hohe Leistung erzielen, führt die Verwendungopenaire +1 more source
