The difference between willingness to pay (WTP) and willingness to accept (WTA) has been widely studied both through theory and experiments. In a typical experiment, a subject is given some item, like a coffee mug, and offered money to return it to the experimenter. The dollar amount the subject asks for is his WTA. Another subject is not given a mug

WTP and WTA: Do People Think Differently?
Contingent valuation (CV) studies in health care have used the willingness to pay (WTP) approach, to the virtual exclusion of willingness to accept (WTA). Outside the health care field, disparities between WTP and WTA values have been observed. Were such

Risk Analysis, 2002
Quality adjusted life years (QALYs) and willingness to pay (WTP) are alternative measures of the value of reductions in health risk that are often used in evaluating environmental, health, and safety practices. Although both methods are based on individual preferences, the underlying assumptions differ.

On Uncertainty and the WTA-WTP Gap [PDF]
We correct an analysis by Isik (2004) regarding the effects of uncertainty on the WTA-WTP gap. Isik presents as his primary result a proposition that the introduction of uncertainty regarding environmental quality improvements causes WTA to increase and WTP to decrease by identical amounts relative to a certainty condition where WTA=WTP.

Consumer WTP for Blueberry Attributes: A Hierarchical Bayesian Approach in the WTP Space
2011A stated preference experiment is conducted to elicit consumer WTPs for various blueberry attributes. The mixed logit model is employed to account for consumer heterogeneity. The model is set up in the WTP space where the distributions of WTPs are directly specified. Considering the high diversity of consumer perception and the remarkable benefits from

De WTP en goede rechtsbescherming? (The WTP and Proper Legal Protection?)
In order to revise the Dutch pension system, a process of incarceration should take place whereby an article from the Pw should be revised, namely article 83 Pw. Revising this article removes the individual right of objection, and with it - also related in this context - access to justice.Hans Van Meerten, Amber Pratt

WTP and WTA for Expressway Services
2007Changes in consumer surplus have been approached in two different ways [1,2]: one is the compensating variation (CV), which is the amount of income that an individual is ready to pay to keep his utility as it was before a change; the other is the equivalent variation (EV), which is the amount of money the individual is ready to accept for the change ...

Invaren onder de WTP (Conversion Under the WTP)
In this contribution, I would like to limit myself to a global assessment of the European fundamental right to property. Other aspects are also discussed in passing. The contribution is structured as follows. Section 2 provides a brief introduction to the new Pensions Act (Future Pensions Act (WTP)) and in particular the so-called 'conversion' of ...openaire +1 more source
