ZnO‐Coated Silicon Oxide Nano‐Anode: Synergistic Enhancement of Cycling and Thermal Stability of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Lithium‐ion battery anodes that maintain good performance and excellent stability under high temperature conditions. Silicon oxide (SiO) has great potential as a high‐capacity anode for lithium‐ion batteries, but its practical use is limited by excessive volume expansion (>200%) and rapid capacity fade, especially at high temperatures.

Characterizing Wyoming Ranching Operations: Natural Resource Goals, Management Practices and Information Sources

open access: yes, 2013
Spanning 12 million hectares, Wyoming rangelands produce food and provide other vital ecosystem services. However, the decision-making process of the ranchers who steward these lands is complex and poorly understood. In cooperation with the Wyoming Stock

Organotrifluoroborate‐Driven Phase Stabilization and Defect Suppression for Wide‐Bandgap Perovskites

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A multifunctional additive, trifluoro(pyrrolidin‐1‐ium‐1‐ylmethyl) borate (PyMe‐BF3), leverages B‐F coordination and N‐H hydrogen bonding to passivate undercoordinated Pb2+, fill halide vacancies, and suppress phase segregation. Its preferential enrichment at the buried interface targets the defect‐rich region, enabling simultaneous wide‐bandgap ...

Delayed and deferred surgery associated with cenobamate use in people with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Cenobamate has been shown to be an effective antiseizure medication for some patients with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy being considered for epilepsy surgery. This retrospective single‐center study evaluated whether surgery was obtained within 12 months for patients who received cenobamate as a treatment during the presurgical ...

Breeding switchgrass for reduced nitrogen demand

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Breeding has improved switchgrass biomass yield, but productivity is still heavily dependent on nitrogen fertilizer application. The genetic diversity needed to improve nitrogen use efficiency of switchgrass remains underused, mainly because of the slow and laborious breeding process, thus leaving the crop's high nitrogen demand as a major barrier to ...
