Bistatic TerraSAR-X/F-SAR Spaceborne-Airborne SAR Experiment: Description, Data Processing and Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report about the first X-band spaceborne-airborne bistatic SAR experiment, using the German satellite TerraSAR-X as transmitter and DLR's new airborne radar system F-SAR as receiver. The data were acquired early November 2007.

Sea-detecting X-band Radar and Data Acquisition Program

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2019
To meet the radar data requirements of target detection technology research and address the lack of publicly available sea-detecting radar data, a data-sharing program for sea-detecting radar is proposed herein.

Aerosol Retrieval Over Ocean From DPC‐2/GF‐5(02): Using RemoTAP Extended With a 3‐Parameter Ocean Bio‐Optical Model and Comparisons With a 1‐Parameter Model

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract Multi‐angle polarimetric instruments (MAPs) enable the retrieval of essential aerosol properties over oceanic regions. MAPs retrieval algorithms commonly use a 1‐parameter ocean bio‐optical model (OBM), based on chlorophyll‐a concentration only to represent optical properties over open waters (case‐1), whereas the coastal water (mixture of ...

Theoretical Evaluation of Several Possible Along-Track InSAR Modes of TerraSAR-X for Ocean Current Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The German satellite TerraSAR-X, scheduled for launch in early 2007, will permit high-resolution ocean current measurements by along-track interferometric SAR (along-track InSAR) in various experimental modes of operation, using different subsections of ...

Wind Direction Retrieval from X-Band Marine Radar Images Using 2D-DTCWT–CSC and Maximum-Energy Radial Rings

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Under moderate-to-high wind conditions, low-frequency wind direction modulation signals in X-band marine radar images are strongly coupled with wave textures, sea clutter, and blind-zone interference, which degrades wind direction retrieval accuracy.

BridgeSAR: Measuring Bridge‐Water Clearance From Space Using SAR Multipath Signatures

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 19, 16 October 2026.
Abstract Bridge‐water clearance controls safe vessel passage and reflects local water‐level changes, but direct measurements are unavailable at many bridges. We present BridgeSAR, a geometry‐guided method that estimates clearance from multipath scattering stripes in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) amplitude images.

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 84, 19 October 2026.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

An Adaptive Method of Wave Spectrum Estimation Using X-Band Nautical Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
In this paper, the dependency of wave spectrum estimation on the analysis window orientation for X-band marine radar data is investigated. The investigation is made for the case where both wind wave and swell components are present. Our results show that
