Marine X-band weather radar data calibration

Atmospheric Research, 2012
Application of weather radar data in urban hydrology is evolving and radar data is now applied for both modelling, analysis, and real time control purposes. In these contexts, it is allimportant that the radar data is well calibrated and adjusted in order to obtain valid quantitative precipitation estimates.

Surface Current Measurements Using X-Band Marine Radar With Vertical Polarization

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2016
In this paper, the retrieval of sea surface current velocity from vertically polarized (V-pol) X-band marine radar data is presented. Three different methods, including the iterative least square approach, the normalized scalar product method, and the polar current shell algorithm, that have been used for horizontally polarized data are employed here ...

Estimate of the precipitation based on X-band marine radar

2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011
X-band marine radar was tested out the estimate of precipitation on the basis of rain gauge data and weather radar. This higher frequency radar is capable of measuring precipitation. The high resolution rainfall measurements will be used for run-off simulations and urban drainage applications.

Design of X-band VCO for marine radar product

Proceedings of Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering CCECE-94, 1994
The authors explain the design approach of a VCO using linear simulation. The design method uses measured S-parameters for the active device of the oscillator and then, employs computer simulation to optimize the oscillator circuit to satisfy the oscillation conditions.

Coastal marine X-band radar bathymetry and current mapping

2023
This presentation studies coastal marine X-band radar (MR) bathymetry and current measurements made in Monterey Bay, California, during the Coastal Land–Air–Sea Interaction (CLASI) experiment from Jul-Aug 2021. Numerous past studies have shown coastal MR bathymetry and, to a lesser extent, current measurements, but only a few of ...
