Measurement of the Orbital Parameters, Spin, and Spectral Evolution during the Main High State of Her X-1 with Insight-HXMT

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Based on Insight-HXMT observations, we present a detailed timing analysis and spectral evolution of a complete main high state for Her X-1 in 2020 February. We determine an accurate local ephemeris using the Rmer delay measured from five eclipses.

High-Mass X-Ray Binaries and OB Runaway Stars [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 2004
AbstractHigh-mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) represent an important phase in the evolution of massive binary systems and provide fundamental information on the properties of the OB-star primaries and their compact secondaries (neutron star, black hole). Recent observations indicate that the neutron stars in some of these systems (Vela X-1, 4U 1700-37) are ...

Formation of Sco X-1 induced by anomalous magnetic braking of Ap/Bp stars

open access: yes, 2017
Sco X-1 is the brightest persistent X-ray in the sky. It is generally believed that Sco X-1 is a low-mass X-ray binary containing a neutron star accreting from a low-mass donor star where mass transfer is driven by the magnetic braking. However, the mass

Probing the composition of sub-millisecond rotating compact stars by r-modes instability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the implications of the r-modes instability on the composition of a compact star rotating at a sub-millisecond period. In particular, the only viable astrophysical scenario for such an object, wich might present inside the Low Mass X-ray ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Detection of Multiple X-Ray Quasi-periodic Oscillations in IGR J19294+1816 with Insight-HXMT

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report the timing results with Insight-HXMT observations of X-ray binary IGR J19294+1816 during its 2019 type I outburst at the decline phase shortly following its peak.

The X-Ray Radiation Mechanism of the Compact (Neutron) Binary Stars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
Usually we think a X-ray source may be a compact(neutron) binary star on which the X-ray radiation might be generated by gravitational acceleration for the particles coming from the primary and going along magnetic field lines of the compact star to the poles. But, in the past, people don't consider well the problem of particle acceleration.

Populating the Galaxy with low-mass X-ray binaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We perform binary population synthesis calculations to investigate the incidence of low-mass X-ray binaries and their birth rate in the Galaxy. We use a binary evolution algorithm that models all the relevant processes including tidal circularization and

Novel Tailoring of Ternary ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 Nanocomposite Heterojunction and Its Tunable Electrochemical Properties With Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...
