MAXI observations of long X-ray bursts [PDF]
Abstract We report nine long X-ray bursts from neutron stars, detected with the Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image (MAXI). Some of these bursts lasted for hours, and hence are qualified as superbursts, which are prolonged thermonuclear flashes on neutron stars and are relatively rare events.

Estimation of plasma parameters of X-pinch with time-resolved x-ray spectroscopy
We estimate the parameters of a Cu plasma generated by an X-pinch by comparing experimentally measured x-rays with synthetic data. A filtered absolute extreme ultraviolet diode array is used to measure time-resolved x-ray spectra with a spectral ...

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.

EP241217a: A Likely Type II GRB with an Achromatic Bump at z = 4.59
EP241217a is an X-ray transient detected by the Einstein Probe lasting for about 100 s and without accompanying γ -ray detection. The optical spectroscopy reveals the redshift of EP241217a is 4.59. By combining the γ -ray upper limit provided by GECAM-C,
