Rapid Spectral Evolution of SGR 1935+2154 during Its 2022 Outburst

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
During the 2022 outburst of SGR 1935+2154, a fast radio burst (FRB)-like event (FRB 20221014A) and X-ray activities occurred between two spin-up glitches, suggesting these glitches may connect to multiwavelength phenomenology.

X-Ray Afterglows from Gamma-Ray Bursts [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1997
We consider possible interpretations of the recently detected X- ray afterglow from the gamma-ray burst source GRB 970228. Cosmological and Galactic models of gamma-ray bursts predict different flux and spectral evolution of X-ray afterglows. We show that models based on adiabatic expansion of relativistic forward shocks require very efficient particle

Real‐Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging with an Ultra‐Sparse, Low Power Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a novel, ultra‐sparse ultrasound architecture that paves the way for wearable real‐time 3D imaging. By integrating a unique convolutional array with chirped data acquisition, the system achieves high‐resolution volumetric scans at a fraction of the power and hardware complexity.

Effect of Viewing Angle in Gamma-Ray Burst Properties

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The empirical classification of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) is based on their distribution in the plane of burst duration and spectral hardness. Two distinct distributions, long-soft and short-hard bursts, are observed in this plane, forming the basis for ...

Tunable Bioresorbable Scaffolds With Marine Sulfated Polysaccharides for Small‐Caliber Vascular Grafts: A Multi‐Layered Strategy Combining Electrospinning and 4‐Axis Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multilayered small‐caliber vascular scaffold combining electrospinning and 4‐axis printing is developed and biofunctionalized with marine sulfated polysaccharides from Holothuria tubulosa. The resulting construct exhibits enhanced hemocompatibility, tunable mechanical properties, and supports endothelial and smooth muscle cell adhesion and ...

Identifying the Origin of Fast Radio Burst–Associated X-Ray Bursts with X-Ray Polarization

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The origin of an extraordinary X-ray burst (XRB) associated with a fast radio burst (FRB) such as FRB 20200428 is still unclear, though several models, such as the emission of a trapped fireball modified by resonant cyclotron scattering, the outflow from

Nb2C‐Reinforced Hydrogel Microneedle as Dual ROS‐Scavenging Platform to Promote Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An advanced microneedle patch integrating niobium carbide nanosheets and curcumin is engineered for diabetic wound healing. The system enables dual ROS scavenging and NIR‐enhanced antimicrobial activity, effectively rebalancing the oxidative microenvironment, promoting macrophage repolarization and angiogenesis, and accelerating full‐thickness wound ...

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

Reactions on the surface and inside of neutron stars

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Measurements from orbiting X-ray satellites during the last decades have provided us with a wealth of information about nuclear reactions thought to occur in the extreme, highdensity environment of neutron stars.
