Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Enhanced colour encoding of materials discrimination information for multiple view dual-energy x-ray imaging

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis reports an investigation into dual-energy X-ray discrimination techniques. These techniques are designed to provide colour-coded materials discrimination information in a sequence of perspective images exhibiting sequential parallax.

Streaking and splashing: design of a grazing incidence x-ray streak camera and time-resolved measurements of the structure of water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The performance of cesium iodide photocathodes has been characterized for use with grazing incidence soft x-rays. The total electron yield and pulsed quantum efficiency has been measured in a reflection geometry as a function of photon energy (100 eV to ...

Low-noise CMOS Charge Preamplifier for X-ray Spectroscopy Detectors

open access: yes, 2010
The development of radiation detectors for high-resolution high-rate X-ray spectroscopy is strictly related to the continuous improvement of the performances of the related front-end readout electronics.

Long‐Term Efficacy of Immunotherapy in Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy—A 10‐Year Follow Up Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) is a rare but potentially treatable cause of severe autonomic failure. Evidence guiding long‐term immunotherapy, treatment sequencing, and residual autonomic impairment is limited. We evaluated long‐term treatment response, residual autonomic dysfunction, and relapse patterns in patients with

View synthesis for depth from motion 3D x-ray imaging.

open access: yes, 2009
The depth from motion or kinetic depth X-ray imaging (KDEX) technique is designed to enhance the luggage screening at airport checkpoints. The technique requires multiple views of the luggage to be obtained from an arrangement of linear X-ray detector ...

Characterization of x-ray detectors in the MIT x-ray polarimetry beamline

open access: yesX-Ray, Optical, and Infrared Detectors for Astronomy XI
The MIT X-ray Polarimetry Beamline is a facility that we developed for testing components for possible use in X-ray polarimetry. Over the past few years, we have demonstrated that the X-ray source can generate nearly 100% polarized X-rays at various energies from 183 eV (Boron K$α$) to 705 eV (Fe L$α$) using a laterally graded multilayer coated mirror (

Triangular Index Ratio as an Alternative Method to the Alpha Angle for Defining the Presence of Cam Morphology: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Cam morphology, which is a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of
