Crystal structure of 3-bromo-2-hydroxybenzonitrile
The crystal structure of the title compound, C7H4BrNO, has been determined, revealing a partial molecular packing disorder such that a 180° rotation of the molecule about the phenol C—O bond results in disorder of the bromine and nitrile groups.

Progress and Poverty—1965 Version [PDF]
The first hard X-ray laser, the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), produces 120 shots per second. Particles injected into the X-ray beam are hit randomly and in unknown orientations by the extremely intense X-ray pulses, where the femtosecond-duration X-

Characterization of nanodimensional Ni-Zn ferrite prepared by mechanochemical and thermal methods. [PDF]
Nickel zinc ferrite nanoparticles, Ni1−xZnxFe2O4 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0), with dimensions below 10 nm have been prepared by combining chemical precipitation with high-energy ball milling.

Impact of ultrafast electronic damage in single particle x-ray imaging experiments
In single particle coherent x-ray diffraction imaging experiments, performed at x-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs), samples are exposed to intense x-ray pulses to obtain single-shot diffraction patterns.
