Diffractive-refractive optics: X-ray collimator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2008
Diffractive-refractive optics are x-ray focusing monochromators based on the diffraction on profiled crystal surface. Diffraction on longitudinal parabolic groove machined in crystal surface forms a sagittaly focused synchrotron radiation beam. Such kind of monochromator may be realized as a crystal with parabolic hole, where the beam is diffracted on ...

Optically Modulated X-Ray Diffraction

Physical Review Letters, 1970
The spatial variation in the response of the electronic charge distribution of an atom to an applied electric field is shown to be observable by means of a measurement of the spontaneous parametric decay of an x-ray pump into the optical region.

Diffraction of x rays in capillary optics

Applied Optics, 2000
Propagation of x rays generated by a small-diameter incoherent source through the capillary waveguide that satisfies the multimode condition is studied with the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction theory. The strong influence of diffraction on the propagation is demonstrated.

Diffraction optics for X-ray imaging

Microelectronic Engineering, 1996
Diffraction optics for X-ray imaging are being used, for example, for X-ray microscopy experiments. In this paper the fabrication of high resolution zone plates and condenser zone plates is discussed. The fabrication techniques described include electron beam lithography, UV laser lithography, and pattern transfer by reactive ion etching.

Diffraction-limited large X-ray optics

Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology, 1994
It is shown that the technologies required to produce large normal-incidence multilayer x-ray mirrors with diffraction-limited resolution are now available. Applications of these mirrors in x-ray astronomy and x-ray lithography are discussed.

Time-Resolved x-ray diffraction with polycapillary x-ray optics

CLEO:2011 - Laser Applications to Photonic Applications, 2011
Picosecond x-ray diffraction using a quasi-collimating polycapillary optic and a laser plasma based x-ray source is demonstrated, significantly reducing data acquisition time for time-resolved studies.

Diffractive soft and hard X-ray optics

Journal de Physique IV (Proceedings), 2003
The Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology provides the essential technologies necessary for the design and fabrication of diffractive x-ray optics for a wide range of applications. Over the past years, a large variety of optics has been fabricated and tested in collaboration with a large number of partners To ensure good performance of the devices ...
