X-Ray Fluorescence Experiments with Polarized X Rays [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in X-ray Analysis, 1974
AbstractTwo methods of obtaining polarized x-rays for fluorescence experiments are discussed. Compton scattering from a low-Z scatterer is the usual method used in such experiments. The polarization of x-rays undergoing anomalous Borrmann transmission in a dislocation-free crystal is also described and preliminary results are presented.

Influence of compression on soil characterization by X ray fluorescence

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Exatas e Tecnológicas, 2018
The study of soil mineralogy has been highlighted in recent years, as well as the search for alternative analytical techniques for soil analysis. The classical methods for determination of total oxides in soil expose the analyst to chemical hazards and ...

The crucial contribution of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy in medicine

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Chimie, 2021
This contribution tries to indicate to the clinician what kind of information can be investigated through X-ray fluorescence, what kind of information can be extracted from this spectroscopy and finally how it competes with other tools described in ...

Speckle contrast of interfering fluorescence X-rays

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, 2023
With the development of X-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs), producing pulses of femtosecond durations comparable with the coherence times of X-ray fluorescence, it has become possible to observe intensity–intensity correlations due to the interference of

X-Ray Fluorescence Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Synchrotron x-ray fluorescence microscopy is used to quantitatively measure and image the distribution of trace elements in biological, geological and materials science specimens. The design and performance of the x-ray fluorescence (XRF) microprobe at the NSLS are discussed and compared with other XRF microprobe designs.
