Characterization of a Li-6 loaded liquid organic scintillator for fast neutron spectrometry and thermal neutron detection

open access: yes, 2013
The characterization of a liquid scintillator incorporating an aqueous solution of enriched lithium chloride to produce a scintillator with 0.40% Li-6 is presented, including the performance of the scintillator in terms of its optical properties and ...

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Material Evidence Analysis and Regional Classification and Identification of Soil Based on X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry and X-ray Diffraction

open access: yesYankuang ceshi
In the field of forensic science identification, geochemical-related materials such as soils and rocks were important sources of material evidence. In actual case analysis, the information provided by material evidence often pointed to unknown areas ...

Reevaluating the Activity of ZIF‐8 Based FeNCs for Electrochemical Ammonia Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Though receiving much attention, the field of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) to ammonia is marked by doubts about whether this reaction is possible in aqueous media. This work sheds light on this question for iron single‐atom on N‐doped carbon (FeNC) catalysts—a class of well‐known catalysts that is also worth testing for the sister

Tailoring Redox Active Sites with Dual‐Interfacial Electric Fields for Concurrent Photocatalytic Biomass Valorization and H2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A rationally engineered bifunctional photocatalyst is reported, which achieves simultaneous selective oxidation of biomass‐derived 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5‐diformylfuran (DFF) and efficient H2 evolution. By precisely positioning Au and Co3O4 on Zn3In2S6 nanosheet, dual interfacial electric fields are well constructed to spatially separate ...

A Meteorite Ablation Debris: Testing and Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this research report, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry have been used to determine the mineralogical and elemental composition of a stone sample recovered from a location near village Lehri in district Jhelum, Pakistan.
