Suppression of glitches in X-ray measurements

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1982
Abstract There are two approaches in eliminating glitches that occur at particular X-ray monochromator energies due to coincidences of several reflections which take intensity from the main beam. The first is to move the monochromator crystals in such a manner as to avoid producing the glitches. This is very difficult in practice.

Spectral X‐Ray Glitches in Monocrystalline Diamond Refractive Lenses

physica status solidi (b), 2017
X‐ray refractive lenses are widely used optical devices at today synchrotron X‐ray sources. In the present paper we demonstrate negative influence of the X‐ray diffraction on optical properties of monocrystalline X‐ray refractive lenses in operation. Several types of single‐crystal diamond lenses were studied in X‐ray spectroscopy mode at the European ...

Determination of glitches in soft X-ray monochromator crystals

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1988
The location of multiple reflections or “glitches” is given by a general expression, from which the glitch maps of KAP(100), beryl(1010), alpha-quartz(1010), InSb(111), Ge(111) and Si(111) are derived. A proper choice for the azimuthal orientation of these crystals leads to a large glitch-free region at the low-energy side of the monochromator range ...
