X-ray luminescence properties of rare-earth doped orthotantalate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This paper reports the X-ray luminescence emission spectra of YTaO4 and GdTaO4 activated by rare-earth ions. The luminescence efficiency of M'-type YTaO4 activated by rare-earth ions was calculated.

Bridging Boltzmann and Non‐Boltzmann Optical Thermometry Enabled by Multimodal Perovskite Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal perovskite nanocrystals enable optical thermometry across multiple excitation and emission regimes, spanning the UV–Vis–NIR spectral range. By combining upconversion, downshifting, and persistent luminescence, the platform bridges conventional Boltzmann and non‐Boltzmann thermometric approaches.

x-ray luminescence spectroscopy characterisation of stain-etched luminescent porous silicon films [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The surface and in-depth chemical nature of the photoluminescent stained Si layer obtained with a novel procedure based on HF/HNO3 is presented. Oxide-free porous Si surfaces result from controlled preparation, storing and handling of samples, as ...

Neodymium‐Doped Nanocrystals for Sensing Cellular Temperature at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Neodymium‐doped NaYF4 nanocrystals are engineered as bright, biocompatible nanothermometers for intracellular temperature mapping. Their ratiometric near‐infrared emission enables highly sensitive, nanoscale thermal readouts in living cells. Combined with gold nanostars for photothermal therapy, they reveal pronounced subcellular heating heterogeneity ...

Evidence and engineering of x-ray luminescence in lead free perovskite Cs2AgInCl6 with Bi substitutions

open access: yesAPL Materials
Cs2AgInCl6 belongs to the family of lead-free halide double perovskites. Lead-free halide double perovskite appears as a viable contender for scintillator applications due to its inexpensive production costs, low intrinsic trap density, and nanosecond ...

Dataset of emission and excitation spectra, UV–vis absorption spectra, and XPS spectra of graphitic C3N4

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
In this data article, the normalized emission and excitation spectra, the ultraviolet-visible (UV–vis) absorption spectra, and the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of bulk-powders and nano-structured graphitic C3N4 (g-C3N4) were presented, which ...

DNA-modified silicon nanocrystals studied by X-ray luminescence and X-ray absorption spectroscopies: Observation of a strong infra-red luminescence band [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Silicon nanocrystals (SiNCs) modified with 18-mer DNA oligonucleotides have been studied by X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) in photoluminescence yield (PLY) and total electron yield (TEY) modes ...

Red Fluorescent Protein‐Metal Organic Framework Hybrids for Lighting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the encapsulation in a metal‐organic framework (MOF) of two red fluorescent proteins, DsRed and mCherry. The materials conserve all spectroscopical and structural properties of the underlying components, which allows for their implementation as color down‐converting materials in bio‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes, which exhibit average 3 ...
