An Uncommon Instance of Egyptian Blue in the “Pigmented Intonachino” of the Fishpond Wall Painting From the Roman Villa of Torre di Pordenone (Northeast Italy)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasingly close integration of analytical techniques in the study of Greek and Roman wall paintings has shown that Egyptian blue was a common pigment, widely documented in the production of blue and greenish hues in ancient painted production.

Towards an ‘absolute’ timing of biostratigraphic and environmental phases from the Saalian late glacial to the Weichselian pleniglacial in central Europe—Insights from a lacustrine succession in Lichtenberg, northern Germany

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Palynological records are central to the biostratigraphic subdivision of the Late Pleistocene in central Europe. Yet many interglacial and interstadial phases—such as the Eemian, Brörup and Odderade—remain only poorly constrained in time due to limited numerical dating.

A bifacial paradise—The site of Ochtmissen, Germany, and its lithic assemblage in the context of the last glacial (early MIS 4) in the north‐central European Lowland

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
The Palaeolithic site of Ochtmissen (Lower Saxony, Germany) was excavated in fluvial terrace deposits during the winter of 1993/1994. The current study presents, for the first time, a thorough analysis of the lithic assemblage, encompassing its primary technological and typological characteristics, as well as the type and age of the fluvial deposits ...

Photochemical effects of Mars‐like UV irradiation on carboxylic acids in carbonaceous chondrites and expectations for abiotic background organics on Mars

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract In the search for life on Mars, understanding the origin of preserved organics is critical. Expected sources include exogenous delivery, endogenous synthesis, and potentially life. Environmental processing by ultraviolet (UV) irradiation can alter these organics, obscuring hallmarks of their origin. To deconvolve these effects, we conducted an

One‐Pot Spray Pyrolysis Fabrication of Multi‐Phase Lithium Manganese Oxide Microsphere Cathodes for Enhanced Lithium‐Ion Battery Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 6, November 2026.
Sr‐LMO microspheres were synthesized by one‐pot spray pyrolysis, forming multi‐phase lithium manganese oxide with Sr‐doped LiMn2O4, Sr2Mn2O5, and Li2MnO3‐like domains. This structure refines particles, suppresses Jahn–Teller distortion, and adds Li+ pathways, delivering superior cycling stability and rate performance over undoped and commercial LMO ...

Multiple Subduction–Exhumation Cycles and Episodic Hydration–Metasomatism of an Oceanic Eclogite Block: Implications for Thermal Structure Evolution and Mass Transfer at the Subduction Interface

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The rarity of natural rocks that specifically record the physicochemical conditions of the subduction interface strongly hampers pertinent studies on metamorphic trajectories of high‐pressure (HP) rocks and related fluid–rock interactions. This study examines an oceanic eclogite block from the Huwan shear zone in the Hong'an orogen.

The Fiery Eyes of a Maenad: Origin Determination of Faceted Garnet Eye Inlays in a Roman Bronze Bust From Southern Tyrol

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 5, Page 898-907, October 2026.
ABSTRACT In 1837, the Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck, Austria, purchased a Roman bronze statue of a maenad from the 2nd century ce with red garnets as facetted eye inlays found near Brixen, Southern Tyrol. These garnets were investigated using optical microscopy, a portable hand‐held and a stationary micro‐X‐ray fluorescence device, as

Asymmetric Diphosphane Dioxides With A–π–A–π’–D Scaffolds for High‐Purity Deep‐Blue Luminescence

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 36, 24 September 2026.
Diphosphane dioxide‐based luminophores with donor–π–acceptor– π’–acceptor scaffold enable efficient deep‐blue emission from tunable charge‐transfer states affording high photoluminescence up to 95%. OLEDs reach EQE 4.9%, aided by triplet–triplet annihilation, highlighting a practical route to high‐performance blue emitters.

PERFECTA Loaded Lipid Cubosomes for 19F‐MRI: Physico‐Chemical Characterization

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 35, 19 September 2026.
Phytantriol‐based cubosomes loaded with PERFCTA, a fluorinated MRI probe, were developed as promising systems for imaging and drug delivery. The nanoparticles showed high PERFECTA encapsulation efficiency, strong fluorine MRI signals, and optimal colloidal stability in biological media.

Switchable Dual Emission of Luminescent Metal–Organic Framework@Nanoparticle Composites of EuBDC and ZrO‐Containing Hybrid Materials

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 26, 16 September 2026.
Luminescent metal–organic framework@nanoparticle composites show dual emission of both components EuBDC and zirconyl‐containing nanoparticles, being reversible, excitation energy‐dependent and solvatochromic switches. The chromaticity changes are fast, as no chemical transformation is involved and required as source of the dual emission.
