Zircaloy-2 secondary phase precipitate analysis by X-ray microspectroscopy

Talanta, 2008
Secondary phase precipitates of a Zircaloy sample have been characterised by X-ray microspectroscopy. In Zircaloy-2 X-ray microscopy reveals pictures with a 40 nm resolution identifying Fe, Cr and to a lower occurrence Ni phases up to size of the micrometer.

Noise analysis of speckle-based x-ray phase-contrast imaging

Optics Letters, 2016
Speckle-based x-ray phase-contrast imaging has drawn increasing interest in recent years as a simple, multimodal, cost-efficient, and laboratory-source adaptable method. We investigate its noise properties to help further optimization on the method and further comparison with other phase-contrast methods.

X-ray diffraction phase analysis of the crystalline phase of polytetrafluoroethylene

Crystallography Reports, 2010
Samples of ultradispersed polytetrafluoroethylene, which were prepared with the use of different technological approaches, were studied by X-ray diffraction. The samples were found to belong to the monoclinic system. For some samples, basal reflections, which can be related to paraffins, were found for the first time. This indicates that polymer chains

Computer-Aided Qualitative X-Ray Powder Diffraction Phase Analysis

Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1982
AbstractThis paper describes a set of interactive computer programs written in FORTRAN IV and implemented on a POP 11/34 equipped with RLO-2 ten Mbyte discs and an RSX-11M operating system to assist in x-ray diffraction phase analysis. The packing of the data base will be described along with the various interactive programs that access it.

Quantitative Phase Analysis in Titanium by X-Ray Diffraction

Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1957
AbstractIn view of present difficulties encountered in met alio graphic methods of phase analysis of titanium and its alloys, the possibility of utilizing integrated X-ray intensities for phase analysis was investigated. Power Formula variables were calculated for titanium, and relative areas of three alpha and one beta peak were determined. Recorded X-

Standardless Quantitative X-Ray Phase Analysis – Estimation of Precision

Powder Diffraction, 1989
AbstractQuantitative phase analysis of n-phase mixtures can be performed if at least n samples composed of no more than n identical phases are available. The fact that there is no need for pure phases (analytical standards) constitutes the main advantage of the method presented here.

High-temperature X-ray diffraction phase analysis of YNi2B2C

Physica C: Superconductivity, 1996
Abstract High-temperature X-ray diffraction of polycrystalline YNi 2 B 2 C has been used to determine the thermal-expansion coefficients of YNi 2 B 2 C and its decomposition temperature for temperature sweeps from room temperature up to 1200°C. The lattice parameters a and c exhibit a thermal expansivity of different magnitude and thus indicate ...

Qualitative Phase Analysis Using an X-Ray Powder Diffractometer

Advances in X-ray Analysis, 1980
During the past three years we have undertaken the development of a complete X-Ray Powder Diffraction, facility with the goal of fully integrating experimental and analytical procedures. Such an approach potentially offers substantially improved performance over previously existing systems by virtue of its internal self-consistency and it opens the ...

Mössbauer and X-ray phase analysis of carburized steel

Hyperfine Interactions, 1994
57Fe backscattering Mossbauer phase analysis of the ASTM A295-70 type chromium bearing steel gas was performed for samples with varying phase composition achieved by gas carburization up to 3 wt% C followed by standard hardening, i.e. austenitizing and quenching procedures.

Variation of the X-ray quantitative phase analysis method

Inorganic Materials, 2009
A method to determine the composition of the phase coequilibrium with one of the components in the system under study is proposed. It is based on the use of diffraction pattern data for test samples whose representative points are located at different sides of the point of the phase in question.
