Theoretical analysis of x-ray CT phase-contrast imaging
SPIE Proceedings, 2008Recently phase contrast imaging has attracted much attention. An obvious advantage of using X-rays for imaging the internal structure of relatively thick samples lies in its high degree of penetration of solid objects. However, often leads to poor image contrast for soft tissue.

Methods of mixing in quantitative X-ray phase analysis
Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1979The mass absorption factor μ*0j of an unknown sample can be determined by mixing of the sample with a substance for which the mass absorption coefficient μ*0K is known, and then measuring the intensity of the analytical lines of the mixture and the sample.

Noise analysis of grating-based x-ray differential phase contrast imaging
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010The sensitivity of x-ray radiographic images, meaning the minimal detectable change in the thickness or in the index of refraction of a sample, is directly related to the uncertainty of the measurement method. In the following work, we report on the recent development of quantitative descriptions for the stochastic error of grating-based differential ...

DQE analysis on a dual detector phase x-ray imaging system
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2008This study presents the characterization results of a newly developed dual detector in-line phase x-ray imaging prototype. Comparison of modulation transfer function (MTF), noise power spectrum (NPS) and detective quantum efficiency (DQE) for both detectors was conducted when they worked in the dual detection mode, in which two images are acquired ...

The application of cluster analysis in X-ray diffraction phase analysis
Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1992This paper proposes a method using cluster analysis to classify X-ray diffraction lines of a multiphase mixture into different phases. This classification of lines is useful in both qualitative and quantitative phase analysis. An example of a three-phase mixture is given to illustrate this method.

Heights of Overlapping X‐ray Reflections and Phase Analysis
Crystal Research and Technology, 1986AbstractThe influence of reflections overlapping on the heights of their maxima is investigated using the Lorentzian profile approximation. This influence should be taken into account in automatic powder diffractometer programs of phase analysis based on the peak heights.

Phase stabilization in cinnarizine complexes using X-ray profile analysis
Pramana, 2001Characterization of cobalt(II), cadmium(II), copper(II) and tin(II) cinnarizine complexes have been carried out using conductivity, electronic spectra, infrared, nmr, thermogravimetric and X-ray analyses to establish the nature of phase stabilization in these materials.

X-ray phase analysis with depth profiling for thin films
Thin Solid Films, 1992Abstract A conventional X-ray diffractometer with a sample tilting X-ray diffraction (STD) mode is a useful tool which can better characterize the phase composition of films from 100 A to a few micrometers thick with random or preferred orientations. In this paper equations of an asymmetrical Bragg reflection intensity and the observed crystal plane ...

Quantitative Phase Analysis of Clinker Using X-Ray Diffraction
Cement, Concrete, and Aggregates, 1991Abstract Many difficulties are encountered in quantitative X-ray diffraction analysis of portland cement and clinker. Despite these difficulties, it appears that, with adequate experimental procedures, the major clinker phases can be determined with an absolute accuracy of 2 to 5% (by weight of the total clinker) for alite and belite and
