X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy
In recent years, X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) has emerged as one of the key probes of slow nanoscale fluctuations, applicable to a wide range of condensed matter and materials systems. This article briefly reviews the basic principles of XPCS as well as some of its recent applications, and discusses some novel approaches to XPCS ...

X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy during homogenous shear flow
We report x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy measurements of advective and diffusive dynamics in a dispersion of colloidal particles subjected to homogeneous shear flow in a rotating-disk shear cell. Intensity autocorrelation functions from scattering data collected using homodyne detection respond to the variation in velocity across the scattering ...

X-rays induced atomic dynamics in a lithium-borate glass
The continuous development of synchrotron-based experimental techniques in the X-ray range provides new possibilities to probe the structure and the dynamics of bulk materials down to inter-atomic distances.

A Contrast Calibration Protocol for X-ray Speckle Visibility Spectroscopy
X-ray free electron lasers, with their ultrashort highly coherent pulses, opened up the opportunity of probing ultrafast nano- and atomic-scale dynamics in amorphous and disordered material systems via speckle visibility spectroscopy.

Optimizing the signal-to-noise ratio for X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy
An analysis is presented of how to optimize the experimental beamline configuration for achieving the best possible signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy experiments using area detectors. It is shown that there exists an optimum detector distance; namely, the highest SNR is achieved by matching the angular pixel size with

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...
