Synthesis of Levoglucosenone‐Based Amphiphilic Molecules via Microwave‐Assisted Michael Additions

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2026.
Comparison between the conventional and the sustainable synthetic microwave‐based approach for Michael addition reactions on LGO developed in this work. Aligning with the objectives of the EU chemicals strategy for sustainability, an ultrarapid, safe and sustainable method for producing a library of levoglucosenone (LGO)‐based amphiphilic molecules was

Probing magnetars magnetosphere through X-ray polarization measurements

open access: yes, 2013
The study of magnetars is of particular relevance since these objects are the only laboratories where the physics in ultra-strong magnetic fields can be directly tested.

A gas pixel detector for x-ray polarimetry

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2006
Even though lacking of solid experimental verifications, X-ray polarimetry is strongly established as a deep diagnostic tool for probing the emission mechanisms in astronomical sources of high energy radiation. The recent development of new, more efficient instrumentation, as well as the renewed interest of the theoreticians, has drawn a significant ...

The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer

open access: yes, 2021
The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer is the next NASA Small Explorer developed in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, ASI). The mission, selected in 2017, is dedicated to imaging polarimetry in the 2-8 keV energy range and the payload comprises of three identical telescopes, each composed of a grazing-incidence ...

A Unified Vector Electromagnetic Framework for Ionospheric Scintillation and Polarization Effects in GNSS

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 61, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The ionosphere imposes coupled amplitude, phase, and polarization distortions on trans‐ionospheric Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals, reflecting the structure and dynamics of electron‐density irregularities. Classical weak‐scatter theory provides a mature framework for interpreting amplitude and phase scintillation, but these ...

X-RAY AND GAMMA-RAY POLARIMETRY OF GRBS [PDF]

open access: yesEAS Publications Series, 2013
Polarimetry is expected to play a major role as a diagnostic tool for GRBs. Techniques and methods for X/Gamma ray polarimetry are reviewed including the specific problems related to the transient nature of the sources. Optical data do not encourage optimistic predictions on polarimetry of afterglows.

Characterization of Mass Wasting Events on Lunar Maria Using Mini‐RF Radar Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Evidence of mass wasting has been observed on the Moon since at least the Apollo era. Surface features indicative of mass wasting processes are traditionally characterized geomorphologically using visible images. In this study, we aim to better understand mass wasting features via their radar properties, which can provide insights into the ...

The Combination of Chiral Assembly and Chiral Template Effects Boosts Circularly Polarized Luminescence of Perovskite Nanocrystals

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 1, 2 January 2026.
We show that the hierarchical order of perovskite nanocrystal assemblies formed within a nanostructured, chal liquid‐crystalline template exhibits extremely high circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). This is due to the helical arrangement of PNCs in the template voids and capitalizes on the inherent electrooptic properties of the template ...

Observations of Low and Intermediate Spectral Peak Blazars with the Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry Explorer

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present X-ray polarimetry observations from the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) of three low spectral peak and one intermediate spectral peak blazars, namely 3C 273, 3C 279, 3C 454.3, and S5 0716+714.

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 35, 30 April 2026.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐
