The Chandra Deep Field-North Survey. XIV. X-ray detected Obscured AGNs and Starburst Galaxies in the Bright Submm Source Population [PDF]
We provide X-ray constraints and perform the first X-ray spectral analyses for bright (f_850>=5mJy; S/N>=4) SCUBA sources in an 8.4'x8.4' area of the 2 Ms Chandra Deep Field-North survey containing the Hubble Deep Field-North. X-ray emission is detected from 7 of the 10 bright submm sources in this region, corresponding to an X-ray detected submm ...

AGN behind the SMC selected from radio and X-ray surveys [PDF]
The XMM-Newton survey of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) revealed 3053 X-ray sources with the majority expected to be active galactic nuclei (AGN) behind the SMC. However, the high stellar density in this field often does not allow assigning unique optical counterparts and hinders source classification.

ROSAT X-ray sources in the field of the LMC. II.Statistics of background AGN and X-ray binaries [PDF]
About 200 X-ray sources from a sample of spectrally hard ROSAT PSPC sources, given in the catalog of Haberl & Pietsch (1999), and observed in a ~60 square degree field of the LMC during several archival pointed observations with a wide range of exposure times have been reanalyzed.

The X-ray binary population in M33: II. X-ray spectra and variability [PDF]
In this paper we investigate the X-ray spectra and X-ray spectral variability of compact X-ray sources for 3 Chandra observations of the Local Group galaxy M33. The observations are centered on the nucleus and the star forming region NGC 604. In the observations 261 sources have been detected. For a total of 43 sources the number of net counts is above

The X-ray emission from Young Stellar Objects in the rho Ophiuchi cloud core as seen by XMM-Newton [PDF]
We observed the main core F of the rho Ophiuchi cloud, an active star-forming region located at ~140 pc, using XMM-Newton with an exposure of 33 ks. We detect 87 X-ray sources within the 30' diameter field-of-view of the it EPIC imaging detector array.

The contribution of AGN to the sub-mm population [PDF]
We find that X-ray sources in the Extended Chandra Deep Field South are strongly spatially correlated with LABOCA 870 micron sources. We investigate the dependence of this correlation on X-ray flux, hardness ratio and column density, finding that specifically faint and absorbed X-ray sources are significant sub-mm emitters. In the X-ray source redshift

X-ray sources in globular clusters [PDF]
Observations with BeppoSAX, RXTE and Chandra suggest that many of the bright X-ray sources in globular clusters have ultrashort binary periods. This is remarkable as such systems are not easily formed.

Globular cluster x-ray sources. [PDF]
Globular clusters and x-ray astronomy have a long and fruitful history. Uhuru and OSO-7 revealed highly luminous (> 10 36 ergs -1 ) x-ray sources in globular clusters, and Einstein and ROSAT ...
