This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Stellar X-Ray Activity and Habitability Revealed by the ROSAT Sky Survey
Using the homogeneous X-ray catalog from ROSAT observations, we conducted a comprehensive investigation into stellar X-ray activity–rotation relations for both single and binary stars.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

X-ray Emission from O Stars [PDF]
AbstractYoung O stars are strong, hard, and variable X-ray sources; properties that strongly affect their circumstellar and galactic environments. After ≈ 1 Myr, these stars settle down to become steady sources of soft X-rays. I will use high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy and MHD modeling to show that young O stars like θ1 Ori C are well explained by ...

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Limits to Extracting Neutron-star Physics Constraints from NICER Pulse Profiles
Modeling energy-dependent X-ray pulse profiles from rotation-powered millisecond pulsars observed with Neutron Star Interior and Composition Explorer (NICER) has emerged as a promising avenue for measuring neutron-star radii and probing the equation of ...

The X-Ray View of the Wolf-Rayet Stars [PDF]
Ever since the earliest work, X-ray observations have been central in the chequered development of the study of interacting high-velocity winds in binaries. This review assesses how confidently the observations of Wolf-Rayet stars may be interpreted as the result of colliding winds, drawing attention to the wide range of X-ray luminosities even among ...

Time resolved X-ray spectral analysis during optical dips and accretion bursts in stars with disks of NGC 2264 from Chandra/ACIS-I and CoRoT data [PDF]
The simultaneous X-ray and optical observations with excellent time resolution of T Tauri stars with disks may provide insight on the accretion process and the properties of the inner disk. This was one of the motivations of the CSI 2264 campaign.
