X-shaped radio galaxy 3C 315

open access: yesBOOK OF ABSTRACTS AND CONTRIBUTED PAPERS - International Meeting on Data for Atomic and Molecular Processes in Plasmas: Advances in Standards and Modelling
AbstractHere we want to investigate X-shaped radio galaxy 3C 315, which is a FRII source, but it lies very close to the FRI/FRII borderline. We used publicly available data from Leahy’s atlas of double radio-sources and NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) in order to investigate its flux density, as well as the spectral index distribution.

Weak-lensing Analysis of the Complex Cluster Merger A746 with Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The galaxy cluster A746 ( z = 0.214), featuring a double radio relic system, two isolated radio relics, a possible radio halo, disturbed V-shaped X-ray emission, and intricate galaxy distributions, is a unique and complex merging system.

Roll‐To‐Roll Production of Smart Dressings for Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a roll‐to‐roll manufactured smart wound dressing capable of visually monitoring key wound biomarkers, including pH, humidity, and temperature. By integrating colorimetric sensors into flexible dressing substrates, the device offers real‐time, equipment‐free insights for infection detection and wound management, representing a ...

CGCG 292-057: A Near-Distance Merger Galaxy with Double–Double Radio Lobes and X-shape Structure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astrophysics and Astronomy, 2011
J1159+5820 is an extended radio galaxy with a quite unusual morphology, featuring two pairs of radio lobes. Such sources, called double–double radio galaxies, constitute a very rare class of extragalactic radio sources. Furthermore, the extended radio structure of this source shows an X-shape form. According to a much likely scenario, such a morphology

Simulating Radio Synchrotron Morphology, Spectra, and Polarization of Cosmic Ray Driven Galactic Winds

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The formation of galaxies is significantly influenced by galactic winds, possibly driven by cosmic rays due to their long cooling times and better coupling to plasma compared to radiation.

X-ray/Optical/Radio Observations of a Resolved Supernova Remnant in NGC 6822

open access: yes, 2004
The supernova remnant (SNR), Ho 12, in the center of the dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 6822 was previously observed at X-ray, optical, and radio wavelengths.

NGC 2207/IC 2163: A Grazing Encounter with Large Scale Shocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Radio continuum, Spitzer infrared, optical and XMM-Newton X-ray and UVM2 observations are used to study large-scale shock fronts, young star complexes, and the galactic nuclei in the interacting galaxies NGC 2207/IC 2163.

Playing Hard with Si: Challenges and Opportunities for New Materials in Radiation Therapy Dosimetry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon has been a cornerstone material of radiation therapy dosimetry for many decades, providing somewhat unchallenged performance. However, there are caveats to its use, requiring complex designs and, often, correction factors to provide accurate measurements.

Constraints from Faraday rotation on the magnetic field structure in the Galactic halo

open access: yes, 2016
We examine the constraints imposed by Faraday rotation measures of extragalactic point sources on the structure of the magnetic field in the halo of our Galaxy.

Bipolar-Hyper-Shell Galactic Center Statrburst Model: Further Evidence from ROSAT Data and New Radio and X-ray Simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Using the all-sky ROSAT soft X-ray and 408-MHz radio continuum data, we show that the North Polar Spur and its western and southern counter-spurs draw a giant dumbbell-shape necked at the galactic plane.
